Goals, Outcomes and Indicators
Goal One: Increase visibility and community engagement.
Outcome One
PDAS is recognized as a dynamic victim-centered collaborative that identifies, shares and sustains innovative and effective approaches to ending domestic violence.
Indicators:
- Domestic violence systems, programs, and the community at large are aware of PDAS through effective outreach, community presentations, cooperative learning and partner engagement.
- PDAS and PDAS programs are the "go-to" points for people impacted by domestic abuse and for seamless services and supports to victims of domestic abuse.
- PDAS is the think tank to address gaps in domestic violence services and opportunities to end domestic violence.
- PDAS and faith communities are allies with a coordinated relationship to end domestic violence.
- A plan to inform the field through collecting, documenting, and sharing the collective wisdom gained through the PDAS model is developed and implemented.
Goal Two: Holistic approach
Outcome Two
PDAS ends violence through a holistic approach to prevention, early intervention, and direct service activities that are culturally relevant, innovative, and effective.
Indicators:
- People who batter will change their behavior through participation in education and services that effectively address the impact of their violence and the factors contributing to their violent behavior, including, but not limited, to: socialization, childhood trauma, stress, learned behaviors, and other circumstances.
- Children will be exposed to domestic violence education through an integrated curriculum at schools.
- Therapeutic services for children, youth, adult, and senior victims of domestic violence will be explored and made available.
- Education, services, and support to family members and/or secondary victims, based on the needs and desires of the family/secondary victims, will be available.
- Opportunities for development, maintenance, and support of a positive, safe and healthy relationship between parent and child will be explored and made available, based on the needs and desires of the family.
Goal Three: Address the basic needs of victims
Outcome Three
PDAS meets the basic needs of victims and their families by identifying existing resources, reducing fragmentation of services and supporting the development of new resources.
Indicators:
PDAS assures the following resources are made available to victims of domestic violence:
- Food, clothing, baby supplies, 911 phones, etc.
- Emergency financial help
- Emergency housing
- Emergency transportation
- Medical care
- Permanent housing
- Childcare
- Finances
- Personal needs
- Emergency pet care
Goal Four: Expansion of Bridges to Safety (BTS)
Outcome Four
BTS assures access to a comprehensive continuum of services and support to meet the cultural, emotional, spiritual, mental, and physical needs of adult, youth, and child victims.
Indicators:
- BTS develops and implements a plan to identify existing resources and support the development of new resources to address the following victim needs: employment; finances;
housing; immigration; medical/mental health support; women used in prostitution; on-site crisis intervention for kids, as needed and appropriate, including groups to process the abuse,
intervention in psychological and behavioral issues, etc.; culturally specific services; and language/interpreters.
- BTS is fully staffed by partners who are effective at addressing the above needs.
- BTS partners continue monthly in-services to enhance cross-learning and to improve knowledge, skill sets, and cultural competence.
Goal Five: Sustainability
Outcome Five
PDAS and its existing services will be self-sustaining through innovative funding, creative engagement of partners, and a broader network of agencies.
Indicators:
- Partners are flexible in providing resources, as needed and available.
- Greater representation of direct service staff in leadership, planning, and decision-making.
- Better utilization of services from partners.
- Recognition of partners/contributors.
- Innovative fundraising strategy is developed and implemented.
- The PDAS policy and protocol to address partner competition for increasingly limited resources will be revisited, and revised, if needed.
- A process for PDAS to remain abreast of the changing economy and its impact on PDAS and PDAS partners will be developed and implemented.
